September 15, 2009
To our valued
community friends:
The town of Ware
has charged our 250th anniversary committee with the tremendously important
task of planning, overseeing and executing the many festivities leading up to
the culmination of this historic event in September 2011.
Our volunteer
committee of seven is now busy setting a timetable of events loosely organized
by theme for each month starting in November 2010.
Enclosed you will
find event ideas listed by month that we have generated to suggest and inspire
your participation.
We would very
much like you to help us champion one or more of these events with volunteer
manpower and/or financial donation. Perhaps you have an annual or new community
event that would fit our timetable. Please consider collaborating with us
to celebrate this event and to promote your activity. Possibly you would
consider building a float or organizing a group to march in the parade.
We need to build
and manage a ŇglobalÓ Ware 250th anniversary calendar - both online and in
print - in order to maximize opportunities for marketing, fund-raising and to
achieve our primary goal: providing the very best yearlong celebration for all
residents and visitors of Ware.
If you choose to
join our effort, your event and sponsor name will appear on programs, on our
website and on newspaper, TV and radio announcements. That is a lot of
positive advertising!
In the next few
weeks, a representative from this committee will contact you to learn of your
participation with one of the attached events, or to help you plan your own.
If you would like
to contact us sooner, please donŐt hesitate to call or email our Secretary Tim
Kane at (413) 967-3505, or tkane@turley.com.
Sincerely,
Ware 250th
Anniversary Committee
